As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting excellence and creativity, and to enhancing the recognition of its distinguished scholars and thinkers across various disciplines, Ain Shams University announces the opening of nominations for the State Awards organized by the Supreme Council of Culture in the fields of Arts, Literature, and Social Sciences for the year 2026.
The State Awards are among the highest honors granted by the Arab Republic of Egypt, in appreciation of the contributions of intellectuals, creators, and researchers. The awards include the following categories:
1. Nile Award
This award is granted to a distinguished figure in the fields of Arts, Literature, or Social Sciences.
It carries a cash prize of EGP 500,000 and a gold medal.
The award includes three prizes for Egyptian creators (Arts – Literature – Social Sciences) and one prize for Arab creators in any of these fields.
2. State Appreciation Award
Granted to outstanding individuals for their distinguished intellectual output in the fields of Arts, Literature, and Social Sciences.
The award carries a cash prize of EGP 200,000 and a gold medal and is granted in a total of 10 prizes (3 for Arts – 3 for Literature – 4 for Social Sciences).
3. State Award for Excellence
This award is presented to creative individuals who have demonstrated exceptional talent and sustained contribution in Arts, Literature, and Social Sciences.
It carries a cash prize of EGP 100,000 and a silver medal, with a total of 7 prizes (2 for Arts – 2 for Literature – 3 for Social Sciences).
4. State Incentive Award
This award aims to support and promote intellectual and creative production in the fields of Arts, Literature, Social Sciences, and Legal and Economic Sciences.
Each award carries a cash prize of EGP 50,000, with a total of 32 awards granted across various disciplines.
Ain Shams University invites all faculty staff and teaching assistants who meet the eligibility criteria to apply for these prestigious awards, which reflect the nation’s appreciation of its scholars and intellectuals.

The University Awards Office calls upon interested faculty members from relevant faculties to complete the required documents for the Nile, Appreciation, and Excellence Awards well before the above date, to allow sufficient time for necessary approvals and nominations.
