The Faculty of Mass Communication at Ain Shams University announced the release of the first issue of Ain Shams Journal of Media Research, a peer-reviewed biannual scientific journal that aims to contribute to enriching academic knowledge through the publication of research and scientific studies in various fields of media and communication.
This initiative reflects the faculty’s commitment to supporting scientific output and providing a distinguished academic platform for professors and researchers. The journal keeps pace with the rapid developments in the field of media and enhances the role of scientific research in serving the community.
The journal welcomes contributions from researchers and faculty members inside and outside Egypt to publish their scientific papers and research articles, in line with approved academic publishing standards, thereby promoting the exchange of expertise and academic perspectives on both the local and international levels.
Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, affirmed the University’s support for the Faculty of Communication in launching its specialized scientific journal in accordance with the latest approved standards and guidelines, as part of the University’s mission to advance scientific research across various academic and applied disciplines.
Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Postgraduate Studies and Research emphasized the significance of Ain Shams Journal of Media Research as a cornerstone and a pioneering contribution of the Faculty of Mass Communication in the field of postgraduate studies and scientific research.
Prof. Heba Shaheen, Dean of the Faculty, noted that the publication of the first issue coincides with the University’s Diamond Jubilee, representing both a culmination of the University’s long-standing journey of academic innovation and a reaffirmation of its commitment to keeping pace with the major transformations in media studies and digital communication.
The inaugural issue of Ain Shams Journal of Media Research included an academic article on qualitative content analysis “from traditional methods to digital tools” by Prof. Mohamed Saad, Professor of Media at Minia University.
It also featured five peer-reviewed research papers in the fields of marketing and digital journalism. The first paper addressed modern trends in media campaign studies and reputation management by Prof. Amany Albert, Professor of Public Relations and Advertising, Faculty of Communication, Beni-Suef University. The second paper explored contemporary approaches to visual identity research in marketing by Dr. Mai Hamza, Assistant Professor, Department of Marketing Communication, Faculty of Communication, Ain Shams University. The third paper examined research trends in augmented marketing by Dr. Iman Osama, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Relations and Advertising, Faculty of Communication, Cairo University.
The fourth paper focused on modern trends in infographic use in digital journalism by Dr. Soha Abdel Rahman, Assistant Professor, Department of News Journalism, Faculty of Communication, Ain Shams University. The fifth paper investigated contemporary approaches to studying crime news in electronic journalism by Dr. Flora Ekram, Assistant Professor, Department of News Journalism, Faculty of Communication, Ain Shams University.
