The Middle East Research and Future Studies Center at Ain Shams University held a board meeting to discuss mechanisms for developing the center's performance and enhancing its research and scientific activities in the coming period.
The meeting was chaired by Her Excellency Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development and Chair of the Center's Board of Directors. The meeting was attended by Dr. Hatem El-Abd, Director of the Center, and a group of board members, including His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed El-Orabi, former Minister of Foreign Affairs; His Excellency Ambassador Ezzat Saad, Executive Director of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs; Prof. Hanan Metwally, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University; and Prof. Hiam Wahba, Professor at the Faculty of Business at Ain Shams University.

Dr. Ghada Farouk opened the meeting by welcoming the board members and the university's guests, His Excellency Minister Mohamed El-Orabi and His Excellency Ambassador Ezzat Saad. She expressed her pleasure at their presence at the university and the opportunity to benefit from their combined experience in the center's field of work.
For his part, Dr. Hatem El-Abd expressed his pleasure at cooperating with the distinguished members of the board of directors, commending their efforts in ensuring the success of the center's mission and the fulfillment of its assigned duties.
The board discussed and approved the center's final financial accounts during the meeting. The center's most notable achievements during the past period were also reviewed, along with a comprehensive plan to expand and develop research and scientific activities in line with academic and regional changes.
The meeting also discussed ways to activate existing protocols with relevant authorities and expand cooperation with institutions concerned with Middle Eastern affairs. It also explored mechanisms for developing the center's electronic platform and updating the publishing and refereeing procedures for its scientific journal, in line with international academic standards.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Ghada Farouk presented a proposal for the center to be accredited by specialized bodies concerned with Middle Eastern studies, affirming its role as a leading research center in this field in the region.
