Today, the regular session of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector Council was held, chaired by Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and attended by council members. Her Excellency reviewed the sector's efforts during the current academic year, which included organizing more than 17 comprehensive development convoys that provided diverse services to more than 53,000 beneficiaries across various governorates of the Republic: Cairo, Giza, Fayoum, Sohag, Qena, Halayeb and Shalateen, and Beheira.

Approximately 60 events were held, ranging from awareness campaigns to seminars, addressing various awareness dimensions, including: "Supporting national identity in coordination with the Ministry of Endowments across the university's faculties; State efforts to support youth and reduce the phenomenon of illegal immigration; the role of the media in reducing illegal immigration; the dangers of migration; combating illegal immigration in light of international law; and raising awareness of the issue of illegal immigration." In addition, a number of events focused on people with special needs.

A number of constructive proposals were then discussed, including the proposal to establish a community observatory within the university, affiliated with the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector, with sub-departments reporting to the Vice Dean for Community and Environmental Affairs. The observatory operates within an organizational structure consisting of several axes: the Strategic Development Axis, which is concerned with developing annual and semi-annual work plans, development plans, and making any urgent adjustments by receiving the observatory's reports and assignments from the Supreme Council of Universities to implement the university's and the state's strategies; the Digitization Axis, which is responsible for the platform and collecting and analyzing data from the university's published research locally and internationally, and is responsible for receiving requests from ministries, agencies, and governorates; the Partnership and Cooperation Axis, which is responsible for supporting the observatory through partnerships with other observatories with data related to monitoring community issues and preparing a database of active partners; the Marketing, Advertising, and Media Axis; and the Technical Support Axis.

The discussion also revolved around establishing a government excellence unit within the university to monitor the implementation of the university's internal excellence system and continuously monitor the excellence approach and maturity levels. This is in line with the launch of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence competition and in implementation of the recommendations of the Supreme Council of Universities in this regard.

At the conclusion of the session, Prof. Ghada Farouk thanked all council members in appreciation of their tireless efforts and emphasized the need to continue to exert greater efforts in communication and integration among all university faculties.
