Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, the “Harmony Arabi” choir delivered two enchanting musical evenings in Upper Egypt, at the invitation of the “Ana Masry for Development” Association in Qena.
These performances were held as part of the celebrations of Sinai Liberation Day and Labor Day, with the first evening hosted at the Qena Culture Palace on Tuesday, May 7. The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Khaled Mahmoud, Governor of Qena; Dr. Naglaa Bakhoum, Member of Parliament for Qena and Chairperson of the “Ana Masry for Development” Association; along with a distinguished group of Muslim and Christian religious leaders.
The “Harmony Arabi” choir captivated the audience with a diverse repertoire of patriotic anthems, contemporary youth songs, and authentic Egyptian folk music. Their outstanding performance was met with great admiration and appreciation from the officials and attendees in Qena.
In their second stop, the ensemble moved to Luxor, where they performed another musical evening at the Misr Public Library. They were welcomed by Dr. Hesham Abu Zeid, Deputy Governor of Luxor, who expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen for this valuable cultural initiative. Dr. Naglaa Bakhoum also reiterated her thanks and appreciation to the University President and the ensemble for their remarkable performance.
The choir enriched the Luxor evening with a selection of folk songs that reflected the richness and diversity of Upper Egypt’s musical heritage, with a special tribute to the cultural identity of Luxor.
The participation of “Harmony Arabi” was organized under the administrative supervision of Mr. Ibrahim Said Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General for the Education and Student Affairs Sector, and coordinated by student Wesam Khaled, President of the University Student Union, and Mohamed Mansour, Vice President of the Union, under the musical direction of the esteemed Maestro Mahmoud Waheed.
It is worth noting that these artistic celebrations were the result of fruitful coordination and collaboration between Ain Shams University and the Governorates of Qena and Luxor.
