Ain Shams University will host the Middle East round of the international Oxford Price Media Moot Court Competition in Media Law, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. The events will take place Sunday from 1 to 4 February 2026 and will be hosted by the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University, coordinated by Prof. Yassin El-Shazly, Dean of the Faculty, and supervised by Prof. Ahmed Khalifa, Middle East Regional Coordinator of the competition.
The round will bring together 14 teams from Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.
The first day’s agenda features a series of discussion sessions that integrate academic and practical perspectives:
* Digital Rights: a session titled “Digital Rights and Freedoms in an Evolving Legal Landscape”, with the participation of researchers from Columbia University.
* Artificial Intelligence: a discussion on the future of legal professions and judicial practice considering the AI revolution, featuring experts from leading law firms and Oxford University.
* Advocacy Skills: an interactive workshop aimed at enhancing moot court simulation skills and the art of legal advocacy for participating law students.
It is worth noting that the Oxford Price Media Moot Court Competition holds a distinguished position in legal education, as it introduces an innovative approach to legal learning by offering interactive student experience that sharpens analytical skills and trains participants in problem-solving.
