Ain Shams University Hospitals is preparing to open a new stroke, brain hemorrhage, and stroke treatment unit, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East, under the patronage of Prof. Muhammad Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of Hospitals.

Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, said that the unit was equipped with self-efforts in accordance with the latest medical technologies and advanced medical expertise, to provide a medical service worthy of the Egyptian patient and to become a destination for training doctors and a beacon of knowledge. The unit includes the latest device out of 10 cerebral catheterization devices worldwide

Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of University Hospitals, said that the unit includes the most modern catheterization device in the world, as one of only 10 copies in the world and there is no parallel in the entire Middle East region. It is characterized by unprecedented technologies accompanied by the use of artificial intelligence to analyze patient data, as well as the latest radiology and medical analysis devices. In addition to the latest rehabilitation devices for stroke patients.

This is in addition to the unit’s work team, which consists of an elite group of the largest neuroscientists with experience in the field of stroke treatment.

Prof. Ahmed Al-Basiouni, director of the unit, said that a stroke is a sudden moment that may change a person’s entire life, and it is the first cause of disability and the second cause of death in the world. He explained that one in every 4 people is at risk of suffering a stroke, noting that Egypt has 250,000 stroke cases annually, in addition to the number of people who live with its complications; With scientific progress, the hope of saving patients' lives and improving their chances of recovery has increased.

Emphasizing that Ain Shams University Hospitals, the ancient medical edifice, has provided what is consistent with its responsibility towards Egyptian society. A new unit for treating strokes, brain hemorrhages and strokes will be opened, to serve as a new and real hope for patients in Egypt.
