“Predictive Maintenance of Heritage Buildings and Dealing Methodologies,” a workshop at the Faculty of Archeology

On Tuesday morning, the Environmental Projects Unit at the Faculty of Archeology, at Ain Shams University, held a workshop entitled “Predictive Maintenance of Heritage Buildings and Dealing Methodologies,” under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Hossam Tantawi, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Basem Muhammad, Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and under the supervision of Dr. Menna Allah Tariq, Director of the Environmental Projects Unit at the Faculty.

   
   

Dr. Hossam Al-Barambali, Professor of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering, at Ain Shams University, an international maintenance expert and member of the Arab Council for Operation and Maintenance, gave a lecture at the workshop.

During the workshop, Prof. Hossam Al-Barambali discussed the importance of predictive maintenance for heritage buildings, which allows for effective protection of heritage buildings, preserving their beauty and historical value for future generations, while exposing them to maintenance problems in heritage buildings. He also pointed out the use of technology, especially artificial intelligence, in maintaining these buildings, to identify potential damages and preventive maintenance before they occur.

The workshop was well received by graduate students and faculty staff at the faculty.
