The Faculty of Arts signs a cooperation protocol with the National Center for Translation

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, signed a cooperation protocol with Prof. Karma Sami, Director of the National Translation Center.

The protocol aims to enhance cooperation between the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University and the National Center for Translation, through the Center providing training opportunities for college students on translation work and the participation of faculty members in translation projects held by the Center, in addition to cooperation in holding seminars and conferences.

On the sidelines of signing the protocol, the two sides agreed to begin preparing three research teams. The first team will collect press material related to the Al-Aqsa Flood through the “Hebrew Press,” translate it, and publish it in a brochure, to be launched on the sidelines of the Hebrew Language Department conference, which is scheduled to be held on the 23rd. April 2024.

The second team collects press material related to the Al-Aqsa Flood in the “International Press,” translates it, and publishes it in a brochure.

The third team monitors the publications of the National Center for Translation that address the Palestinian issue.

The two sides also agreed to hold a monthly exhibition of the National Center for Translation’s publications on the campus of the College of Arts, with the publications being sold at reduced prices to students in order to motivate students to read.

At the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed to exchange news, events, and activities on the websites of the two institutions.

Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Hatem Rabie, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Mohamed Abboud, Professor of Translation and Modern Hebrew Literature in the Department of Hebrew Language, Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, and Protocol Coordinator witnessed the signing ceremony of the Protocol.

After signing the protocol, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, presented the Faculty Shield to Prof. Karma Sami, Director of the National Center for Translation.
