The inpatient clinics of Demerdash Hospital were opened for free treatment of common diseases for all individuals of different religions and nationalities.

His Excellency Sayyid Abd al-Rahim al-Demerdash Pasha had invited to his home in Raml, the State’s Companions and Excellencies the Ministers, and handed them a letter containing his donation of 52 thousand pounds, the donation of his daughter (Qout al-Qulub al-Demerdashiyah), which is 50 thousand pounds, and an area of land of 15 thousand square meters on the street  Queen Nazli (currently Ramses) to build on it a charitable hospital with a capacity of 57 beds. The construction will be built with 40,000 pounds of the donated amount after reviewing the design, and what remains, which is 60,000 pounds, …

It is mentioned that Al-Demerdash Pasha stipulated that a prayer place be held in the hospital and that a room be built for him to bury him in. This shrine was built and he was buried in it.

One of the ten conditions set by Al-Demerdash Pasha, as stated in the donation letter, was that a bust of me be placed inside the hospital with the following phrase written on its base (the statue of Sayyid Abd Al-Rahim Al-Demerdash Pasha, the builder of this hospital).

However, the statue was not finished at the time of his death in 1929 AD, and the artist did not finish it until 1931 AD with the completion of the hospital building. This statue was made by Professor Anton Hajjar from bronze.

In the picture, the statue is currently in its position at the entrance to the hospital
