Ain Shams University is among the best universities in the medical field according to Shanghai International Classification for the year 2020

Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, reviewed a report from Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, on the progress made by Egyptian universities in the medical sector in the international rankings, within the Shanghai international rankings, and the (QS) world ranking for the year 2020.

The report stated that the Shanghai International Classification for 2020 showed that Cairo University obtained the position (101-150) internationally in the field of public health, while the classification witnessed remarkable progress for Ain Shams University.

The report showed that the universities (Mansoura, Cairo, Alexandria, Ain Shams) were among the best universities in the medical field for the Shanghai International Classification for the year 2020.

In the field of pharmacy and pharmacological research for the International Classification of Universities (Shanghai) 2020, the report stated that more than one Egyptian university (Cairo, Ain Shams, Mansoura, Alexandria, Al-Azhar, Beni Suef, Assiut, Minya) appeared among the international universities in this field.

The report pointed to the progress of universities (Cairo, Alexandria, Ain Shams, and Mansoura) in the field of oral and dental medicine than the same international classification for the year 2020.

The report referred to the development witnessed by Egyptian universities by their appearance in advanced centers in the International University Classification (QS) for the year 2020, in the field of medicine, the universities of (Cairo, Ain Shams) witnessed the advancement of universities, while the field of pharmacy witnessed the advancement of universities (Cairo, Ain Shams, Alexandria, Mansoura) .

The report dealt with the emergence of universities (Cairo, Ain Shams, Alexandria, Mansoura, Assiut, and Suez Canal) among the best universities in the field of human medicine in the international classification of universities (QS).

The report showed that Cairo University is equal in the field of human medicine with the universities (George Washington of America, Georgetown of America, King Abdulaziz Saudi Arabia), while it surpassed the universities of (Tullen of America, Tel Aviv, Kyung Hee of Korea, and King Saud of Saudi Arabia).

Ain Shams and Alexandria universities are equal to universities (Florida International, South Korean Chung Ang, Turkish Istanbul, Kanazawa Japan, and the University of Justice League Jesen in Germany), while they outperformed universities (Hiroshima Japanese, American Florida, British Kelly, Johannes Gutenberg German, British Lancaster).

The minister pointed out that this success of Egyptian universities in international classifications in the medical sector is due to the insistence of the university education system in Egypt to implement the mandates of the President of the Republic to upgrade the order of the medical sector system in Egyptian universities in international university rankings, and the remarkable progress in the implementation of the plan of higher education and scientific research within The State Plan for Sustainable Development 2030, praising the distinguished efforts made by Egyptian universities and the progress they have achieved in international rankings in recent years.
