Poster design competition on the anniversary of the establishment of China–Egypt relations

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, the Confucius Institute of Ain Shams University announces the launch of a poster design competition “on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt - We join hands hand in hand to make the future” and that is from March 25, 2021 Until May 16, 2021, the arbitration team is headed by Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Chinese language learners and all university students can participate.

Prof. Dr. Esraa Abdel Sayed, director of the Confucius Institute at Ain Shams University and the general supervisor of the competition, said that the conditions for participating works are:

The main theme of the competition: “The 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt - joining hand in hand to create the future.” The submitted posters can tell stories of support, solidarity and joint cooperation between Egypt and China during the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, such as the manifestations of the joint cooperation existing between Egypt and China in providing vaccines and mutual donations in order to combat the spread of the Coronavirus, and other manifestations of solidarity and joint cooperation.

The poster format and conditions:

Computer-designed posters and hand-drawn poster may be accepted of 1M or more.

The computerized poster must be in JPG, PNG or JPEG format, and the image must be clear. The minimum size for hand-drawn poster is A4 paper, and the painting method is not specified.

Finally, the computerized posters should be sent to the email of the Confucius Institute, Ain Shams University.

(Posters and hand-drawn posters shall be photocopied or scanned by phone to convert them into electronic copies and then sent.

Posters should have a certain degree of innovation, art and creativity, and be characterized by a clean and clear design, rich in sublime meanings, and with a positive meaning, without stealing or copying.

The topic shall be clear and prominent, by mixing graphics and written texts together, and the text is limited to Chinese or Chinese and Arabic, and the number of words is unlimited.

How to name the work / poster: the name of the university - the name of the contestant - the name of the work, such as: Ain Shams University - Zhang San - China and Egypt have worked together in difficult times.

The evaluation is as follows:

New and unique idea, good look and general design. (30) points

Fine artwork, proper color mixing, vivid and lifelike. (20) points

The topic is prominent and meaningful, and it can resonate well. (30) points

The poster text and the attached design description are clear, and the words are accurate, beautiful and full of deep meanings (20) points.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Esraa Abdel Sayed explained that the subscription date starts from March 25 to April 24, participants shall send their works to the institute's email, and works sent after the determined time will not be accepted, and the competition is divided into two stages:

The first stage starts from April 25 to April 30, and the contest judges evaluate works from a total of 100 and 20 distinguished works will be selected from among the participating works.

The second stage: starts from May 1 to May 10, and online voting takes place, and the duration of voting is ten days, and everyone can vote with three votes in one day.

After the online voting time expires, the relevant employees of the Confucius Institute will count the votes, with the second review the first place gets 40 points, the second place gets 38 points, and so forth, until the 20th place gets zero points, and the final results will be announced online at May 16, 2021.

Awards:

First Prize (one winner): Certificate of Appreciation with a reward of 10,000 EGP.

Second prize (2 winners): Certificate of Appreciation with a reward of 5,000 EGP.

Third Prize (3 winners): Certificate of Appreciation with a reward of 3000 EGP.

Excellence Award (4 winners): Certificate of Appreciation with a reward of 1000 EGP.

Note that the final rights for this activity belong to the Confucius Institute of Ain Shams University in Egypt.
