Within the framework of the celebration of the Egyptian Women's Day on the sixteenth of March of each year, the journalist Youssef Al-Husseini hosted in a television interview on the Egyptian satellite channel in his ninth program, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Hend Al-Hilali, Head of Anti-Violence and Harassment against Women Unit at the university.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, that Ain Shams University is in the process of issuing an ethical code for the university, and the student will adhere to the university’s ethics, and the student’s guardian will sign it and it will be implemented from next year, which is the charter that Ain Shams University will seek to export to the rest of the universities.

Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh referred to the pictures and forms of violence against women, pointing out that more than 194 women have benefited from the battered women unit at Demerdash Hospital, which opened last December, explaining the unit’s services from psychiatry, forensic medicine and gynecology that are provided around the clock.

     
 
     

His Excellency also touched on the issue of empowering women, stressing that women at Ain Shams University have achieved this greatly. Approximately 55% of the university's faculty members are women, and the top leaders of the university have 75 jobs, of which 45% are women.

In a related context, Prof. Dr. Hend Al-Hilali said that Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, sets laws that help empower women and achieve a safe university environment for them free from bullying, discrimination, or any form of psychological abuse, referring to the role of the Anti-Violence and Harassment Unit in achieving this, In addition to the support provided by the National Council for Women and the United Nations Population Fund for the unit in achieving its goals, she also spoke about violence against women, noting that it is divided into psychological or physical violence.

It is worth noting that the episode included the presentation of a report on the Unit for Combating Violence and Harassment at Ain Shams University and the Unit for dealing with battered women at the University's Demerdash Hospital.
