The unit, headed by Prof. Dr. Hind Al Hilali, organized an educational seminar in cooperation with the Institute for Environmental Studies and Research, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Hesham Temraz, Vice President for Community Affairs and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Noha Samir Dunia, Dean of the Institute for Environmental Research and Studies, and Prof. Dr. Hala Awadallah, Vice Dean for Community Affairs and Environmental Development, and Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and within the framework of the activities of the Anti-Violence and Harassment Against Women Unit celebrating the Women's Month in March of each year,

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Fakhry, Head of the Human Sciences Department at the Institute of Environmental Studies and Research, and Dr. Reham Safwat is a clinical nutrition expert gave lectures at the seminar.

The seminar aims to introduce the psychological aspects and pressures faced by women and the sources of obtaining positive energy to ensure their psychological health.

At the beginning of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Noha Samir Dunia welcomed the guests and praised the role of the Anti-Violence and Harassment Unit at the university, and made it clear that women are not only half of society, as they are the mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend and colleague, and she is the pillar of society, and it is incumbent upon us all to take care of her mental health so that it benefits the entire community.

Prof. Dr. Hind Al Hilali, Head of the Anti-Violence and Harassment Unit, thanked the Institute for Environmental Studies and Research, for hosting this symposium of interest to all Ain Shams University affiliates, and indicated the importance of the Anti-Violence Unit, its mechanisms, policies, and its support through the university leaders, which would have a positive impact on the educational process at the university.

By taking strong deterrent measures if the incident of violence or harassment is proven after investigation and investigation, and stressed the importance of communicating with the unit in case of facing any problem related to the unit's activity.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Fakhry, Head of the Human Sciences Department at the Institute of Environmental Studies and Research, what is violence against women, and he highlighted the exposure of a large percentage of women to harassment or violence inside or outside the home, although many women conceal their exposure to violence or harassment, but the specialists monitor many of these cases that It also includes verbal violence, whether at home or on the street, as well as economic violence between spouses.

He also explained that there are several reasons for practicing violence against women, including psychological motives related to the aggressor’s exposure to an old assault that left in himself a psychological complex that appears in the pain of others or violence against them.

He reported multiple solutions to create a healthy psychological environment, including: spirituality, meditation, reading books, listening to music, being alone for a short period, expanding the network of positive social relationships and positive thinking.

Dr. Reham Safwat, the therapeutic nutrition expert, says that women go through many hormonal stages that have a great psychological effect on them, and each stage has a different nutritional quality, and every female must take care of her health by eating appropriate, healthy, balanced foods, following the food pyramid and eating causes of happiness such as chocolate, bananas and nuts.

Some volunteer students in the unit also launched an awareness campaign to acquaint students of the Institute for Environmental Research and Studies and university students with the mechanisms and policies that the unit takes to deter any form of harassment and violence within the university.

At the conclusion of the symposium, Prof. Noha Samir Dunia, Dean of the Institute for Environmental Research and Studies, and Prof. Hind Al-Hilali, Head of the Unit for Combating Violence and Harassment against Women, by honoring the distinguished students and the unit's work team, as well as honoring the ideal mother within the institute.
