The University President participates in the First International Conference of the Belt and Road Countries on Green Development

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, participated in the First International Conference on the Belt and Road - on Green Development, which was organized by the Chinese People's University, the largest governmental university for the ruling party in the People's Republic of China, and during the conference attended by representatives from the 64 countries located on the Belt and Road Map. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, in his speech via video conference technology, stressed the need for joint action to face various environmental crises and sustainable development challenges, pointing out that the current situation places a great responsibility on current generations in order to leave a better environment for future generations.

The Chinese media and university websites devoted wide coverage to the participation of the President of Ain Shams University in the conference, especially in light of the Belt and Road Initiative entering its seventh year.

It is noteworthy that Ain Shams University is the first in Africa and the second in the world to be chosen by the People's Republic of China as the headquarters for the establishment of the Center for Studies and Research on the Silk Road.
