As part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to strengthening community partnerships and advancing its healthcare system, and under the patronage of Prof. Ali El-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of University Hospitals, and Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of the University Hospitals, Prof. Hala Suweed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, received a delegation from Rotary Club Horus, headed by Ms. Neveen Roshdy, President of the Club.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Samia Bassiouni, Assistant Governor of the Rotary District and Chair of the Club’s Projects Committee, and Prof. Mohamed El-Saadany, Director of the Geriatric Hospital, to explore ways to strengthen cooperation and support healthcare services provided to older adults.

The meeting discussed mechanisms for cooperation to support the Palliative Care Unit at the Geriatric Hospital, with the aim of enhancing the quality of services and care provided to patients and improving their quality of life, in line with the humanitarian and community role undertaken by the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of integrating the efforts of academic institutions and civil society organizations and expanding areas of community partnership to support the development of healthcare services and enhance care for older adults as one of the groups requiring particular attention and support.

This meeting comes as part of the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its community role and enhance cooperation with supporting organizations and institutions, in line with the University’s commitment to providing sustainable healthcare and community services and improving the quality of care provided to citizens.
