In a new international achievement, adding to Ain Shams University's ongoing record of successes, the Faculty of Engineering team at Ain Shams University achieved a global milestone by securing third place overall in the 23rd annual International Seismic Design Competition, organized by the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute in Portland, Oregon, USA. Forty-six universities from around the world participated in the competition.

The team's participation, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Amr Shaat, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, reaffirms the university's leadership and excellence in preparing engineering professionals capable of competing at the highest international levels.

The team's excellence wasn't limited to third place globally; they continued their success by winning three prestigious international awards, including Best Architectural Design, Best Official Team Jersey Design, and Most Improved Performance.

Furthermore, the judging panel selected the team's engineering project as one of the top ten projects across all entries, reflecting the high level of scientific and innovative expertise possessed by the engineering students.

This competition is one of the most prominent and important global competitions in the field of earthquake engineering, where universities compete to design and build structural models capable of withstanding earthquakes, according to precise scientific and engineering standards, under the supervision of a select group of international experts and specialists.

This achievement reflects the prestigious position that Ain Shams University holds among leading universities regionally and internationally, and confirms the quality of its educational and research system.
