Ain Shams University Advances Continuing Medical Education Through a Hands-on Training Program at the Interventional Radiology Unit, Faculty of Medicine

As part of the pioneering role of the Interventional Radiology Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, in advancing continuing medical education, promoting knowledge exchange, and developing specialized healthcare professionals, the Unit successfully organized the Hands-on Interventional Radiology Training Course for Ultrasound-Guided Procedures. The week-long program combined specialized academic content with intensive practical training.

The training program featured a series of specialized scientific lectures, in addition to simulation-based training using phantom models to help participants acquire essential procedural skills in a safe learning environment. It also included intensive hands-on clinical training on patients under the supervision of distinguished professors and consultants from the Interventional Radiology Unit at Ain Shams University, providing participants with direct clinical experience in accordance with the latest scientific and professional standards.

   
   

The program was held under the patronage of Prof. Ali El Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board; Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals; Prof. Amany Rashad, Chair of the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and Molecular Imaging, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University; and Prof. Mohamed Shaker, Head of the Interventional Radiology Unit, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University. The course was coordinated through the Department's Courses Unit, headed by Dr. Karim Abdel Aziz, in collaboration with the Training Center of Ain Shams University Hospitals, represented by Dr. Aya Emad, Director of the Center.

The organization of this program reflects Ain Shams University's commitment to strengthening continuing medical education and supporting specialized practical training. By enhancing physicians' clinical competencies and keeping them abreast of the latest advances in interventional radiology, the program contributes to improving the quality of healthcare services and patient care.

Participating physicians expressed their appreciation for the program's outstanding scientific content, highlighting its effective balance between theoretical instruction and practical application. They also praised the intensive hands-on training, which enabled them to gain valuable clinical experience directly applicable to everyday medical practice and to enhance their professional performance in line with the latest therapeutic approaches.
