Ain Shams Dental Journal (ASDJ) Achieves Historic Milestone, Advancing to Q3 Ranking in Scopus
Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, the Faculty of Dentistry has announced a remarkable new international achievement for Egypt in the field of dentistry. The Ain Shams Dental Journal (ASDJ) has officially advanced to the third quartile (Q3) in the globally recognized Scopus database, becoming the first Egyptian journal specializing in dentistry to attain this distinguished international ranking.
This achievement marks another milestone in the Journal's academic journey. The Ain Shams Dental Journal was the first Egyptian dentistry journal to be indexed in Scopus and the first in its field to achieve a Q4 ranking. Today, by advancing to Q3, the Journal further strengthens its pioneering position, reflecting the continuous improvement in the quality, impact, and international visibility of its scientific publications.
Commenting on the achievement, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, stated that this milestone is the result of years of dedicated work and unwavering commitment to the highest standards of scientific quality and editorial excellence. He noted that it is the product of the collective efforts of researchers, peer reviewers, editorial board members, and the administrative team, all of whom have played a vital role in enhancing the Journal's standing at both the regional and international levels. He emphasized that this accomplishment demonstrates the ability of Egyptian dental research to compete globally and reflects the faculty’s vision of supporting scientific research and promoting international publishing. He also praised the Journal's role in providing a distinguished scientific platform for researchers from around the world.
Prof. Karim El-Batouty, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, affirmed that supporting scientific research and international publishing remains one of the faculty’s highest priorities. He added that this achievement reflects the faculty’s distinguished position among academic and research institutions at the national, regional, and international levels.
Prof. El-Batouty further emphasized that the Ain Shams Dental Journal will continue its mission of supporting and publishing high-quality scientific research while maintaining a rigorous peer-review system founded on the highest standards of quality, transparency, and professionalism. These efforts, he noted, contribute to advancing scientific knowledge and serving the global dental community.
