“The Annals of Agricultural Sciences” Journal at Ain Shams University continues to strengthen the university’s international research presence and maintains its global Q1 ranking

In a renewed affirmation of Ain Shams University’s distinguished research standing and its ability to compete internationally in scientific publishing, the Annals of Agricultural Sciences journal, issued by the Faculty of Agriculture at the university, has maintained its global Q1 ranking for the fifth consecutive year according to Clarivate – Web of Science indicators, and has also sustained its Q1 status for the eighth consecutive year according to Scopus rankings, reflecting the strength of the university’s scientific output and its growing academic impact worldwide.

This achievement comes as an extension of Ain Shams University’s efforts to support the research ecosystem and enhance the quality of international publication, contributing to consolidating its position among leading regional and global universities and strengthening its growing presence across various international rankings and indices.

The journal has witnessed a notable improvement in research performance indicators, as its Impact Factor increased according to Clarivate rankings from 3.2 in 2024 to 4.3 in 2025, reflecting a rising citation rate and the expanding global impact of its published research.

The journal has also maintained its Q1 classification for the eighth consecutive year according to the SJR indicator issued by Scimago Journal & Country Rank based on Scopus data, recording 0.763 compared to 0.620 in the previous year. In addition, its CiteScore rose to 8.2 compared to 8.0 last year, while its H-index increased to 60 compared to 55, confirming the continuous growth in the quality and impact of its published research.

These results reflect the success of Ain Shams University’s strategy in supporting and developing its scientific journals in line with international standards, enhancing researchers’ ability to publish in high-impact scientific outlets and contributing to increasing the university’s global citation and research impact.

The Annals of Agricultural Sciences is considered one of the oldest specialized scientific journals in Egypt and the Arab region. Established in 1956, it has been published continuously for nearly seven decades, becoming an international research platform that attracts researchers from around the world and contributes to the dissemination of scientific knowledge and the exchange of expertise in advanced agricultural fields.

This achievement comes under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. Walaa Abdel Ghany, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; and Prof. Mona Zayed, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and under the supervision of Prof. Ali Abdel Aziz, Editor-in-Chief of the journal, and Prof. Hany Samir Osman, Deputy Editor-in-Chief.

The journal covers a wide range of vital agricultural disciplines, including crop sciences, animal production, food sciences, horticulture, plant sciences, and soil sciences, making it one of the leading scientific platforms that support research and innovation and contribute to strengthening Ain Shams University’s international role and consolidating its position as an influential academic and research institution on the global stage.
