His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, has issued a presidential decree appointing Prof. Youmna Mohamed Safwat Mohamed Salem as Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University.

Prof. Youmna Mohamed Safwat Mohamed Salem is considered one of the distinguished academic figures at the Faculty of Al-Alsun. She holds the position of Professor of French Language and has an outstanding academic and administrative career spanning more than twenty-five years at Ain Shams University.

She began her academic career as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of French Language at the Faculty of Al-Alsun in 2000. She subsequently earned her master's degree and progressed through the academic ranks, serving as an Assistant Lecturer in 2003, Lecturer in 2006, Associate Professor in 2011, and ultimately attaining the rank of Professor in the Department of French Language in 2017.

Prof. Youmna Safwat has held several important academic and administrative positions, including Head of the French Language Department. In June 2020, she was appointed Vice Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and her appointment was renewed in June 2023 for a further three-year term. During her tenure, she played a significant role in strengthening the faculty’s engagement in community service and environmental development, supporting cultural, scientific, and community activities, and contributing to numerous initiatives and events that reflected the faculty’s leading role both within and beyond the university.

In November 2025, she assumed responsibility for overseeing the duties of the Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun. In this capacity, she continued efforts to develop the educational and research processes, ensure the smooth conduct of studies and examinations, support student activities, strengthen academic and cultural cooperation with local and international institutions, promote digital transformation initiatives, and enhance educational services provided to students.

Academically, Prof. Youmna Safwat has contributed to numerous specialized research studies in French language, translation, and linguistic studies. She has participated in many scientific conferences and seminars in Egypt and abroad and has supervised and examined several postgraduate theses, reflecting her distinguished academic standing and extensive scholarly expertise.
