Chaired by Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector Council held its monthly meeting. The meeting was attended by the deans of the faculties, the vice deans for the sector, and Major General Hossam El-Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The session began with the approval of the minutes of the previous meeting. Dr. Ghada Farouk then congratulated Prof. Yomna Safwat on her appointment as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun.

The meeting addressed the topics on the agenda, with the council reviewing Ain Shams University's efforts in development convoys, most notably the Halaib and Shalateen convoy, in which several faculties participated: Medicine, Business, Education, Mass Communication, and Agriculture. This convoy benefited 8,421 individuals.
The council also presented the awareness campaigns implemented in the cultural and health fields, totaling 86 campaigns that reached 17 schools and 9 educational districts.
The council discussed the latest developments at the Ain Shams University Community Observatory, including a presentation of the proposed bylaws for the observatory. As a research and applied entity within the university, the observatory monitors and analyzes social phenomena in the Egyptian context, utilizing advanced research tools and local and international databases to support sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030.

The council also reviewed the observatory's activities, which contribute to strengthening the university's role in serving the community by analyzing social issues, assessing the needs of different groups, and providing scientific recommendations to support decision-makers and foster a stronger connection between the university and the community.
The council also discussed the work of the Committee for Specialized Centers and Units, and reviewed the work of the Standing Committee responsible for overseeing the operations of specialized centers and units that offer training courses.
Based on the Community Service Sector's commitment to improving the performance of centers and units, a proposal to integrate some activities within the Center for Studies, Research, and Integrated Services at the Faculty of Girls was discussed, with the aim of enhancing operational efficiency and achieving service integration.
The council also discussed mechanisms to support people with special needs by improving the services provided at the Special Needs Care Center at the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, including studying the adoption of new assessment tests such as the Conners test and the Learning Disabilities Test.
