In an atmosphere filled with pride and honor, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Ain Shams University celebrated the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Pharm D Clinical program, based on the credit-hour system, for the academic year 2024-2025. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Professor Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; and Professor Rehab Othman, Acting Dean of the Faculty.
The ceremony began with a distinguished presentation by the graduates, amidst warm applause from their families and professors. This moment embodied the feelings of joy and pride felt by the graduation of 68 pharmacists, representing a new generation of ambassadors of science, knowledge, and giving on the threshold of a career filled with challenges and achievements.
In her speech, Prof. Rehab Othman, in attendance, expressed her pride in the graduation of the program's first cohort, emphasizing that this success reflects the fruit of years of hard work, diligence, study, and practical training. She praised the significant role of parents and faculty members in supporting the students until this historic moment arrived. She called on the graduates to be the best ambassadors for the Faculty of Pharmacy and Ain Shams University in their professional lives, setting an exemplary model of excellence, dedication, and commitment.
She explained that the faculty’s institutional accreditation gives its graduates a competitive advantage in the equivalent of foreign degrees, setting them apart from their peers at other universities.
For his part, Prof. Mohamed El Sheikh, Head of the Cairo Pharmacists Syndicate, expressed his happiness to participate in the celebration, emphasizing his pride in Ain Shams University graduates who are distinguished by their competence and commitment. He advised the graduates to continue learning and scientific research to serve the community and the nation.
At a moment every student seeks, graduates stand to recite the oath to practice the profession. This oath makes you almost certain that the person taking the oath is determined not to betray their words or deviate from the actions they pledged, no matter what happens.
Prof. Reem Al-Kabariti, Director of the Alumni Association, thanked the faculty administration for their constant cooperation with graduates and urged them to assume responsibility. She specifically thanked parents.
During her speech, she also introduced the Alumni Association, a central administration established five years ago. Its goal is to prepare and train students for the job market, provide employment opportunities and free courses for graduates, and help them maintain constant communication between the university, graduates, and former students, transferring experiences and assisting them in their professional lives after graduation.
Prof. Ahmed Abu Zaid, Credit Hour Program Coordinator, expressed his pride in this day, which he described as "historic" in the faculty’s history. He explained that the program's success was the result of the combined efforts of the university and Faculty administration, faculty members, and parents.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Rola Milad, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Narmin Victor, Deputy Coordinator of the Credit Hours Program, and Dr. Doaa Hamdy, Deputy Coordinator of the E-Learning Program, along with a select group of faculty members and department heads, attended the ceremony in coordination with the Student Union.
The ceremony included a touching video recounting students' memories of their years of study, and another video reflecting professors' feelings about the success of their graduating children. Artistic and musical performances added to the atmosphere of joy.
Outstanding students also delivered speeches expressing their gratitude to their professors and Faculty leaders, emphasizing that this day represents the culmination of their efforts and those of their families throughout their years of study.
The ceremony concluded with honoring Prof. Mohamed El-Sheikh, Prof. Rehab Othman, Prof. Rola Milad, Prof. Reem El-Kabariti, and a select group of former and current professors and leaders, headed by Prof. Dr. Maha Farouk, former Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Nahed Mortada, former dean of the faculty, along with honoring faculty members who received their master's and doctoral degrees.
The graduating students were also honored and presented with certificates and commemorative shields, amidst touching moments of joy and pride. Commemorative photos were taken to document the beginning of a new journey for the program's first batch of graduates.
