Prof. Awad Tag El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, expressed his pride and happiness with the remarkable progress witnessed by the conference year after year. He emphasized that what we see today is an extension of Ain Shams University's distinguished journey and a product of the strong history of the Faculty of Medicine, one of the most prestigious medical institutions in Egypt and the Arab world. He also highlighted the fruitful efforts and tireless work of the members of the Department of Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation.
He pointed out that the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University boasts scientists and researchers from around the world, adding that the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, specifically at Ain Shams University, was one of the first bone marrow transplant units in Egypt and the Arab world, serving numerous patients in Egypt and the Arab world.

Prof. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din also expressed his great pride in participating in the conference, emphasizing his eagerness to attend in appreciation of the vital role the Hematology Department plays in serving the community, especially in light of the significant expansion of bone marrow transplant services, which have recently become a fundamental medical pillar, with increasing demand and demand across the country.
For his part, Professor Dr. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, announced the upcoming expansions to the Hematology Department at Demerdash Hospital, stressing that this step will provide greater opportunities to treat more patients from various governorates and contribute effectively to reducing waiting lists.
In the same context, Professor Dr. Rania Salah, Vice Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Medicine, praised the unprecedented attendance of several medical students, expressing her appreciation for their eagerness to engage in scientific activities and their pursuit of knowledge beyond the confines of traditional curricula, reflecting an advanced scientific awareness.
Dr. Hala Suweed, the vice dean of Community Service Affairs, also praised the role of the Hematology Unit in serving patients and the services provided to the community.

Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Moaty, Dean of the National Cancer Institute, commended the ongoing efforts of the Hematology Department at Ain Shams University in providing specialized medical care to blood patients nationwide. He noted the ongoing expansion of the department to accommodate the increasing number of patients and provide distinguished medical services.
Prof. Mohamed Moussa, Professor of Hematology and Head of the Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation Department, emphasized that the two-day conference sought to bring together scientists and researchers in the field of clinical hematology and oncology and bone marrow transplantation to exchange their experiences and discuss the latest developments in this field. It also explored new drugs and their impact on various diseases in the field of hematology and bone marrow transplantation, as well as their effectiveness in controlling the course of these diseases.
He added that this conference is an important platform for exchanging expertise and knowledge among specialists, contributing to strengthening cooperation between various medical institutions, and aiming to improve healthcare and develop therapeutic methods in this vital field.

For his part, Prof. Mohamed Osman Azzazy, conference chairman, stated that the conference witnessed broad participation from a select group of consultants and professors of hematology from Egyptian universities, institutes, and hospitals, as well as participants from various countries. A large group of professors of hematology and bone marrow transplantation from Ain Shams University, other Egyptian universities, educational institutes, the military, and foreign universities also attended.
The conference activities continued over two days, July 9 and 10, and addressed many important topics and research and medical developments in the field of hematology and bone marrow transplantation. The conference included medical courses and workshops for new doctors and clinical pharmacists.
The conference also discussed the treatment of advanced cases of immune thrombocytopenia and sickle cell anemia, as well as the latest medical testing methods for bleeding and clotting diseases and various blood tumors. A special session was devoted to discussing modern and advanced methods for performing autologous and donor bone marrow transplants, and the medical management of cases with myeloid and lymphocytic leukemia.
The conference recommended the use of modern treatment lines, immunotherapy, and biological therapies, and their important role in treating such cases and changing the outcome of these tumors.
