Ain Shams University organized a comprehensive development convoy to serve the residents of Al-Basounia village in Fayoum Governorate. The convoy was held under the auspices of Dr. Mohamed Hany Ghoneim, Governor of Fayoum; Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development. It was organized by the University's Community Service and Environmental Development sector in cooperation with Fayoum Governorate, the General Authority for Adult Education, and the Egyptian Red Crescent Society. Ain Shams University hospitals and several of the university's faculties participated in the event, including the Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Nursing.

Prof. Ghada Farouk explained that the number of beneficiaries of this convoy exceeded 5,800, encompassing all aspects of the medical, awareness, and social activities. She praised the diversity of the convoy's activities, particularly the awareness programs that targeted various segments of the beneficiary community.
The medical component included clinics in 10 different specialties: internal medicine, orthopedics, dermatology, pediatrics, ENT, obstetrics and gynecology, neurology, ophthalmology, and cardiology. Free pharmaceutical services were also provided. Approximately 2,500 people benefited from these services, and cases requiring more advanced intervention were referred to Ain Shams University hospitals.

Prof. Ghada Farouk also highlighted the importance of the awareness seminars included in the medical caravan, particularly those focusing on methods for conserving energy, especially at home, and on rationalizing food consumption and the difference between conscious consumption and food waste.
Other seminars addressed oral and dental health, prevention of diabetes and hypertension, patient care, the importance of early detection, and the importance of childhood vaccinations.

Regarding the literacy program, 165 citizens took on-the-spot exams, 22 were enrolled in literacy classes, and 6 received certificates, all in coordination with the General Authority for Adult Education.
Additionally, 500 food cartons and 500 blankets were distributed in cooperation with the Egyptian Red Crescent Society.
The convoy was organized under the supervision of Prof. Hala Samir Sweid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community and Environmental Affairs, and Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of University Hospitals, in coordination with Major General Hossam El-Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
