Ain Shams University Faculty of Mass Communication organized a workshop entitled “How to Become a Radio Presenter,” under the supervision of Prof. Heba Shaheen, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Salwa Soliman, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs. The workshop was delivered by media professional Fady Ibrahim, host of the program “Lessa El-Sobh” on Radio 9090 and was organized with the participation of the I Club team at the Faculty of Mass Communication.
Prof. Heba Shaheen praised radio presenter Fady Ibrahim and his morning show “Lessa El-Sobh” on Radio 9090, highlighting its positive energy, its balance between useful information and light-hearted humor, and its strong interactive engagement with listeners. She noted that the program airs daily from Sunday to Thursday, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., for one hour.

During the workshop, Fady Ibrahim outlined the key qualities of a successful radio presenter, stressing the importance of handling unexpected on-air situations professionally. He emphasized the need to understand guests, accept and manage their mistakes tactfully, and illustrated his points with real situations he had experienced on his show. He also highlighted the importance of adapting communication styles to different guest personalities, dealing wisely with listeners’ comments and questions, and never underestimating audience interaction while striving to provide clear and accurate answers.
He further explained that being a radio presenter is not limited to having a distinctive voice but also requires a strong personality and presence with listeners. He underscored the importance of continuous training, skill development, and constant learning, urging students to enhance their abilities by listening to diverse radio and television programs and following various media arts from their first year at the faculty, to be well prepared for the rapidly evolving media job market in the digital era.
The workshop also included practical applications, where students practiced radio presentation techniques through different program formats, received guidance on improving their performance, and had their questions answered. At the conclusion of the workshop, Prof. Heba Shaheen honored radio presenter Fady Ibrahim in appreciation of his efforts in enriching students’ practical experience during the training session.
