Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, the activities of the University Student Families Festival concluded. The festival was organized by the Students for Egypt family and held from December 8 to 11, with the participation of student family members from various faculties.
Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, attended the closing ceremony of the festival, announced the results of the competitions, and honored the winners, in the presence of Dr. Samar Ragab, Lecturer at the Faculty of Education and Advisor of the Students for Egypt family. The festival activities were held under the administrative supervision of Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector.

In his address, Prof. Rami Maher Ghali expressed his happiness with the spirit of fair competition demonstrated by the students, as well as the talents showcased across the various competitions. He praised the wide diversity of participation from students of different faculties, affirming that academic excellence does not conflict with student activities, but rather complement them and contributes to building a well-rounded student personality.
He noted that the festival was not merely a series of competitions, but rather a platform for discovering talents, developing skills, and encouraging ambition. He also emphasized that the monetary prizes, despite their symbolic value, were not the primary objective, stressing that the true value lies in the experiences gained by students, along with the development of self-confidence and teamwork skills.

Prof. Ghali further indicated that the coming period will witness an expansion in activities and competitions, providing greater opportunities for students to participate and showcase their talents, reflecting the University’s firm belief in the importance of student activities in building balanced personalities. He also advised students, as examinations approach, to maintain a balance between academic achievement and pursuing their hobbies.
At the conclusion of his speech, he extended his thanks to the Students for Egypt family, the General Administration of Youth Welfare, the Education and Student Affairs Sector, as well as all organizing, judging, and working teams, affirming that Ain Shams University students are the makers of the future and a constant source of pride for the University.

In her remarks, Dr. Samar Ragab, Advisor of the Students for Egypt family, congratulated Prof. Rami Maher Ghali on assuming the position of Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs. She also presented him with a commemorative shield in appreciation of his continuous support for the student family since the first day of assuming his post.
It is worth noting that 1,500 male and female students from various faculties participated in the festival. The activities included a wide range of sports, cultural, artistic, and religious competitions, such as five-a-side football, table tennis, running races, tug of war, chess, PlayStation, billiards, as well as competitions in acting, singing, poetry recitation, instrumental performance, chanting, hymns, handicrafts, an art exhibition, and a general knowledge league. The festival also featured Holy Qur’an competitions in memorization and recitation, in addition to fitness and arm-wrestling contests.
Faculty staff and student family advisors from the various faculties served as judges for the artistic and cultural competitions, while the judging of sports competitions was assigned to staff members of the University’s General Administration of Youth Welfare.
The total value of the financial prizes awarded to winning students across the various competitions amounted to EGP 101,000, covering sports, cultural, and artistic activities as follows:
First: Five-a-side Football Competition (per team player):

Third place: EGP 1,000
Fourth place (qualification award): EGP 800

Festival activities were held across several university venues. The Student Activities Hall at the male students’ university housing hosted table tennis, billiards, and arm-wrestling competitions, while the outdoor area was allocated for chess competitions. The five-a-side football pitch hosted fitness competitions, and the main stadium accommodated major sports events, including the opening parade, five-a-side football, tug of war, and running races. Meanwhile, the Union Council Hall hosted cultural and artistic competitions, as well as the Holy Qur’an contests.
