The Awards Office organizes a series of awareness workshops to promote a culture of excellence and support faculty staff, teaching assistants, and administrative staff in the field of awards

As part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to fostering a culture of academic excellence and enhancing competitiveness in the field of awards at both the local and international levels, the University’s Awards Office organized a series of awareness workshops from October 26 to November 6, 2025, across several faculties. The initiative aimed to raise awareness of the mechanisms for award nominations and to provide technical support to faculty members and teaching assistants.

These events were held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and in coordination with the deans and vice deans of the Faculties of Specific Education, Pharmacy, Archaeology, Nursing, Al-Alsun (Languages), Arts, Women, and Law.

During the workshops, Professor Dr. Alaa El-Din Abdel Halim Farag, Supervisor of the University’s Awards Office, along with Mr. Emad Abdel Tawab, General Director of the General Administration for Scientific Research, and several representatives of the Awards Office, presented the vision and role of the office in supporting the university’s award system since its establishment in 2021.

Dr. Farag explained that the office seeks to enhance awareness of the requirements for applying to various awards, particularly state and university awards in their different categories, including Merit Awards, Pioneers Awards, Women’s Appreciation Awards, and Incentive Awards for faculty members, in addition to local, regional, and international awards. This comes within the framework of supporting research talents and encouraging scientific excellence across all disciplines.

As part of completing the institutional excellence system, Ain Shams University introduced, for the first time this year, the “Administrative Excellence Award,” which aims to motivate distinguished administrators and staff across the university’s faculties and sectors, in recognition of their vital role in supporting the educational and research processes and in promoting principles of quality and administrative innovation within the university.

The workshops also focused on explaining the award’s criteria and application mechanisms, supporting outstanding administrators and encouraging them to confidently and competently participate in the university’s excellent framework.

The workshops witnessed strong attendance and productive discussions among faculty members, teaching assistants, and administrative staff. Participants exchanged experiences and received answers to their inquiries regarding the application processes and award file requirements, thereby enhancing their readiness and deepening their understanding of research and administrative excellence standards.

At the conclusion of the workshop series, participants emphasized the pioneering role of Ain Shams University in motivating its academic and administrative cadres toward excellence and innovation, praising the continuous technical support and guidance provided by the Awards Office, which contributes to strengthening the university’s competitiveness both locally and internationally.

The Awards Office at Ain Shams University continues to fulfill its mission of promoting a culture of excellence and encouraging active participation in various award categories, with the support of the university administration and in coordination with academic and administrative sectors and faculties, thereby reinforcing the university’s vision of scientific leadership and its position among leading universities locally, regionally, and internationally.
