Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, a meeting of the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector Council was held. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and attended by the vice deans of the faculties for Postgraduate studies and research, Mr. Mohamed El Khatib, Assistant Secretary for Postgraduate Studies, council members, and representatives of the relevant departments.
The meeting discussed a number of vital issues to support scientific research and postgraduate studies. The council also reviewed the sector's activities, including scientific research plans and directions for each faculty, a summary of the status of postgraduate studies within them, key practices within the faculties, the number of published scientific research papers, inventions, and sector-specific activities, as well as coordination between faculties and follow-up on the implementation of the university's postgraduate studies and research plan.

The meeting also addressed the achievements of the university's research system, according to a report by Clarivate, which included the number of published research papers and future research plans.
In the context of developing graduate programs, the council discussed enhancing the online learning system in accordance with the legal framework, emphasizing its benefits for students in specific study programs.
In terms of partnerships, the council approved a memorandum of understanding between the university's Faculty of Agriculture and the Kyushu Institute of Technology in Japan, in preparation for presenting it to the University Council. The council also discussed a cooperation protocol with the Egyptian Public Prosecution Office and another between the Faculty of Agriculture and the Desert Research Center.
The council also discussed a proposal submitted by the Director of the Center for Educational Strategies and Research Development, which aims to include at least one research paper within the faculty promotion research, focusing on developing the university education system. The council also reviewed the various faculty responses to the proposed mechanism.
During the council, several monthly performance monitoring reports were presented, including a report on the Networks and Information Technology Center, a periodic report on the status of digital transformation and automation of the UMS sector and the university's website, and a discussion of the Quality Assurance Center report.
Attendees also reviewed a report on the performance of the Central Unit for Postgraduate Program Development, and a presentation on the status of the International Students and Visiting Professors Department.
