Today... the conclusion of the activities of the “Sustainable Innovation and Industry 4.0” winter training camp

The conclusion of the activities of the “Sustainable Innovation and Industry 4.0” winter training camp will be held today, Thursday, February 8, 2024, which was launched by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Ain Shams University (ASU-iHub) in cooperation with the Entrepreneurship Center at the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) in Germany at the beginning of February under the auspices of The President of the University, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the supervision of Prof. Adel Al-Sabbagh, General Director of the Innovation Center, Dr. Weam Mahmoud, Executive Director of the University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, and Dr. Islam Adly, Director of Student Activities, ASU-iClub, in the presence of Prof. Diaa Khalil, Executive Director of the Innovators Support Fund (ISF), Dr. Carsten Walbiner, Director of the Office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and Mrs. Engy Nafi, Head of the Cairo Liaison Office of the Technical University of Berlin.

The winter training camp aimed to enhance the culture of entrepreneurship by providing educational topics in the fields of innovation, sustainability, innovation management, intellectual property, and other relevant topics related to Industry 4.0 by working on realistic innovation cases (Business Case) that addressed sustainability issues from a comprehensive and practical perspective during 6 days of intensive training, during which the participants had a more than wonderful experience.

The training also included a scientific and technical visit to the Siemens factory in Ain Sokhna in the Arab Republic of Egypt on the sidelines of the camp, which is considered one of the most important leading factories in the fields of electricity and technology.

It is worth noting that the winter training witnessed a high demand from final-year students, researchers, and university graduates, as more than 175 students, researchers, and graduates applied from both countries in charge of the project (the Arab Republic of Egypt) and (Germany), where 30 applicants were accepted from Ain Shams University in Egypt, and 5 applicants from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany.

The training also witnessed a wide variety of different specializations, with the training participants divided into 7 participants from the agricultural specialization, 12 participants from the engineering specialization in all its branches, 6 participants from the accounting and business specialization, 1 participant from the languages and translation specialization, 2 researchers from the computer and information sciences specialization, and a researcher from the nursing specialization, and a researcher from the basic sciences major, so the number of participants reached 35, divided into 13 postgraduate researchers and 22 graduates.
