The 2026 Ain Shams University Fellowship Fund Board of Directors elections have concluded. The elections were held at the New English Lecture Hall at the Faculty of Law, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abidin, President of Ain Shams University, and in the presence of Major General Ahmed Lasheen, Secretary-General of the University.

The elections witnessed a strong turnout from General Assembly members representing employees of the University and its university hospitals. Voters gathered at the polling venue to cast their ballots and elect their representatives to the Fellowship Fund Board of Directors, amid competition among 13 faculty staff and employees of the University and its hospitals.

The election results were as follows:

First – Faculty Staff:

Prof. Kamel Omar Aref elected unopposed.

Second – University Administration and Faculties:

Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Ibrahim, Assistant Secretary-General for Education and Student Affairs;

Mr. Ahmed Talaat, Chairman of the Ain Shams University Trade Union Committee;

Mr. Mohamed Hamed, Secretary-General of the University Employees’ Trade Union Committee.

Third – Ain Shams University Hospitals:

Mr. Ashraf Hamed, Deputy Head of the Security Department at the University Hospitals.

Fourth – Ain Shams Specialized Hospital:

Mr. Rami Ahmed, Chairman of the Trade Union Committee for Employees of Ain Shams Specialized Hospital.

The Fellowship Fund Board of Directors elections reflect Ain Shams University’s commitment to promoting the principles of participation and institutional governance and strengthening the role of the General Assembly in selecting its representatives. This contributes to supporting the Fund’s efforts to enhance the quality of services provided to its members and continue fulfilling the needs of employees across the University and its hospitals.

The elected Board of Directors represents a key pillar in overseeing the Fellowship Fund’s activities and establishing frameworks to further develop its operational mechanisms in line with the Fund’s objectives. It also seeks to maximize the benefits and services provided to General Assembly members within a framework of organization, transparency, and collaborative institutional work.

At the conclusion of the elections, Ain Shams University Administration congratulated the newly elected members, wishing them success in carrying out their responsibilities and continuing their efforts to strengthen the role of the Fellowship Fund, achieve its objectives, and serve General Assembly members and University employees.
