A symposium on architecture at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, in the presence of the Czech ambassador in Cairo

Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University, received Mr. Ivan Yukl, the Czech Ambassador, accompanied by Prof. Pavel Kalina, Professor of Architecture at the Czech Technical University, in the presence of Prof. Amr Shatouri, who is in charge of managing the work of the Czech Language Department at the faculty, before giving a lecture by the Czech engineer entitled “Prague in the Time of Jan Neruda: The Difficult Birth of a Big City.”

During the meeting, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, confirmed the importance of building bridges of cultural cooperation with various parts of the world through the portal of the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University, pointing out the depth of joint cooperation between Ain Shams University, represented by the Faculty of Al-Alsun, and the Czech Republic in Cairo, by hosting Czech innovators and intellectuals at the faculty and holding a large number of seminars sponsored by the embassy at the faculty.

While the Czech ambassador praised the great cooperation between the Czech Embassy and the Faculty of Al-Alsun in supporting the study of the Czech language in Egypt, especially since the Czech Language Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun is the only department on the level of the African continent and at the level of the Arab countries.

Following the reception, a symposium was held in which Prof. Pavel Kalina spoke about the relationship of Czech architecture and architectural art in the city of Prague with Czech literature and Czech culture. He gave a wonderful presentation of the most important historical buildings in Prague and the planning of this ancient city to become one of the most beautiful cities in the world, in the presence of a number of faculty staff, teaching assistants and faculty students.
