In the presence of Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, participated in the opening session of the Sixteenth International Conference on Breast Cancer, Gynecology and Immunological Diseases, under the slogan “Innovation and Enlightenment”, in cooperation with the Regional Office of the World Health Organization for the Eastern Mediterranean.

In his speech, the Minister of Health stressed the importance of establishing more partnerships and enhancing ways of cooperation with various parties to achieve progress and innovation in the diagnostic and treatment systems in the fields of breast cancer, gynecology, and immune diseases, ensuring the creation of a future free of cancer and immune diseases.

The Minister explained that the conference is of great importance in highlighting the developments and distinguished progress in the diagnostic and treatment systems that are being achieved in the fields of breast cancer, gynecology, and immunological diseases, as well as the research being conducted in this field, pointing out that the conference is an important opportunity to exchange experiences between specialists. from various parts of the world, which in turn contributes to the development of the treatment plan for tumors and immune diseases.

         
   
         

During his speech, the Minister pointed to the huge successes achieved by presidential initiatives to support citizens’ health, most notably the Women’s Health Support Initiative, which achieved great success rates in diagnosing and providing treatment to women, stressing that all efforts are being made to develop new and advanced courses of action to confront and reduce the incidence of breast cancer in women.

The Minister stressed that breast cancer is the most common among women, which requires us to take steps to confront the disease through initiatives and raise the level of early detection of breast cancer, as well as providing platforms for exchanging experiences and advancing strategies to combat cancer in all parts of the world.

In his speech, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, stressed that the conference embodies the importance of scientific cooperation between research centers and universities, whether inside Egypt or around the world. This gathering is a testimony to the profound impact of scientific research on public health, especially in the field of genomics, which has revolutionized the management of Diseases and development of critical illness forecasts.

He added that Ain Shams University is very proud of its leading position in the field of research and knowledge exchange within the region and Africa, and the university’s commitment is embodied through the Egyptian Center MASRI, being the first accredited genomic center in Egypt, as well as Ain Shams medical convoys to African countries, which facilitate the exchange of the latest updates and knowledge with our neighbors. , being one of the leading higher education centers that joined the Presidential Health Initiative and for Ain Shams doctors to be pillars in the Egyptian medical guidelines industry.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa said that Ain Shams University is steadfast in its commitment to continuous development in all fields, especially in the medical field, from pioneering innovations, such as the establishment of the new oncology center, to improvements in hospital infrastructure, and comprehensive doctor training programs, and will continue its constant pursuit of excellence.

He added that our efforts extend from applying the latest early detection methods to improving technologies, all of which aim to provide our patients with the highest level of care, with the goal of achieving optimal results.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Latif, CEO of the Egyptian Health Council, said that the Council is committed to supporting and strengthening the efforts made by the Egyptian state and the Ministry of Health and Population to combat cancerous tumors, pointing out that the Council provides many services and support to improve the quality of health care for oncology patients in Egypt, including Improving the skills of medical teams to provide the best service and medical care for oncology patients in Egypt.

Latif stressed that the conference is an important opportunity to exchange experiences and hone skills with experts from around the world in the fields of breast cancer, gynecology, and immune diseases, to create a positive change in the field of combating cancerous tumors.

For his part, Dr. Hisham Al-Ghazaly, Chairman of the National Committee for Women’s Health, explained that the conference reflects the local and international commitment to fighting cancerous tumors around the world, pointing out that the Egyptian state has succeeded during the past years in developing a system of early detection and treatment for patients with tumors, especially breast tumors and tumors that affect women. Through presidential initiatives to support citizens’ health, as well as issuing recommendations that have become the cornerstone for developing effective strategies to confront cancerous tumors.

The Minister of Health held a meeting on the sidelines of the conference with Dr. Elizabeth Wiederbas, Director of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), affiliated with the World Health Organization. His Excellency also attended on the sidelines of the conference, a round table on types of women’s cancer in the Eastern Mediterranean region in cooperation with the President of the Republic’s initiative to support health.
