ASUWind Team from the Faculty of Engineering Wins Third Place Worldwide in the Small Wind Turbine Competition in the Netherlands
The ASUWind team from the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University secured third place worldwide in the Small Wind Turbine Contest, an international competition hosted in the Netherlands from July 7 to 10, 2026, bringing together outstanding university teams from across the globe.
This achievement was realized under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Amr Shaat, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, as part of the University's strategy to foster innovation and support student participation in prestigious international competitions.
The award-winning team comprised Ramy Mohamed Awad and Raphael Maged George from the Department of Electrical Power and Machines Engineering, along with Rawan Mohamed Hegazy, Sandy Talaat Samir, Abdelrahman Hassan Abdelrahman, Mariam Osama Eissa, Youssef Amr Saeed, and Makony Karam from the Department of Design and Production Engineering.
The team was academically supervised by Prof. Adel El-Sabbagh, Prof. Tamer El-Nady, Prof. Ashraf Mostafa, and Prof. Mahmoud Abdallah.
This accomplishment adds to the growing list of international achievements by students of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University and underscores their ability to apply engineering knowledge to develop innovative solutions in the field of renewable energy. It also reinforces the faculty’s leading role in preparing highly qualified engineers capable of competing at both the regional and international levels.
