A campaign to measure blood pressure and blood diabetes and raise awareness about chronic diseases on the main campus of Ain Shams University

Coinciding with World Diabetes Day, the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector organized a diabetes awareness campaign today under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and coordination of Prof. Gehan Rajab, advisor to the Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and supervised by a team from the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Prof. Hala Suwaid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Salwa Sedek Hosni, Head of the Endocrinology and Diabetes Unit at the Faculty of Medicine and specialized teams from the Faculty of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Sahar Musa, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and Prof. Hayam Refaat, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing

         
   
         

During Prof. Ghada Farouk praised the organization’s efforts, stressing the importance of spreading health awareness among all segments of the university community, especially among young people, about healthy, peaceful lifestyles to prevent diabetes, high blood pressure, and chronic diseases, as well as the importance of early detection of these diseases to maintain the general health of the body.

   
   

The campaign included blood pressure, diabetes, and cumulative blood sugar measurements. The campaign witnessed a large turnout, as it received more than 500 beneficiaries from all categories of the university community, including male and female students, faculty staff, the teaching assistants, the administrative staff, and all university employees.
