The Japanese ambassador in Cairo visits the Zaffran Museum at Ain Shams University

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, received on Tuesday, 6/20 at the Zaffran Palace, the Ambassador of Japan in Cairo, Mr. Oka Hiroshi, and Mrs. His wife, in the presence of Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research.

The Japanese ambassador and his accompanying delegation visited the Saffron Museum, accompanied by Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini and Prof. Mamdouh El-Damaty, former Minister of Antiquities. The Japanese ambassador expressed his happiness at the warm welcome and praised the archaeological contents of the Zaffran Museum, which combine ancient and modern Egyptian history.

It is noteworthy that the Saffron Museum contains 167 artifacts that monitor ancient Egyptian history in its various historical ages, from ancient Egyptian times to the modern age, which were carefully selected from the stores of archaeological sites and Egyptian museums affiliated with the Supreme Council of Antiquities, including the museums of Al-Masry in Tahrir, Kafr El-Sheikh, Islamic Art, Manial Palace, and Royal Vehicles, in addition to a group of artifacts resulting from the excavations of the Egyptian archaeological mission of Ain Shams University operating in the Arab al-Hosn area, and some of the university's holdings represented in a group of papyrus and currency from the Greek, Roman, and Islamic eras, as well as heritage manuscripts from the holdings of the university's library.
