Two workshops to deal with earthquakes and fires for students and employees at the Faculty of Specific Education

The Crisis and Disasters Unit at the Faculty of Specific Education at Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the University's Civil Defense Department, organized two workshops on safety measures that must be provided in the event of earthquakes and fires and "how to use fire extinguishers", on Thursday, May 11, under the auspices of Prof. Osama El-Sayed Mustafa, Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Farag, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Ayat Anwar, Director of the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit at the Faculty.

         
   
         

The first workshop was attended by Brigadier General Adham Muhammad Negm, Director of the Civil Defense Department at the university. The Director of Civil Defense dealt with the procedures and security and safety standards that must be followed in the event of any natural disasters such as fires or earthquakes.

         
   
         

He explained how to use fire extinguishers, types of fires, the causes of their occurrence, how to deal with each type of them, and ways to overcome them properly, and reviewed methods of preventing fires from occurring.

Brigadier General Adham Muhammed tackled the causes of earthquakes, shedding light on the procedures that must be followed before earthquakes occur, and what must be adhered to during their occurrence, as well as safety measures after the occurrence of earthquakes.

A second workshop was presented to the administrators on "how to use fire extinguishers"; Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Fouad, Assistant Director of the Civil Defense Department for Technical Affairs, lectured in it.

He explained the fires and their types, and explained the methods of extinguishing that can be used and how to use fire extinguishers of all kinds.
