The President of Ain Shams University attends the launching ceremony of the International Professional Certificates Project in Teaching in cooperation with ISESCO

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chairman of the Egyptian National Committee for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO - ALECSO - ISESCO), witnessed the signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding for the launch of the "International Professional Certificates in Teaching" project, in cooperation with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO). As well as in partnership with King Saud University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Saleh Abdullah Kamel Humanitarian Foundation.

In the presence of Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik, Director General of the organization, Mr. Abdullah Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Saleh Kamel Humanitarian Foundation, Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and a number of university presidents.

At the beginning of his speech, the Minister welcomed the Ministers, Dr. Salem bin Muhammad Al-Malik, Director General of the Organization, Mr. Abdullah Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Saleh Kamel Humanitarian Foundation, representatives of King Saud University, Mr. Osama bin Nakli, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Cairo, and the attendance of ambassadors and university presidents and representatives of international and African organizations and relevant ministries.

Dr. Ashour stressed the importance of the "International Professional Certificates in Teaching" project, and the signing of the memorandum of understanding for its launch in joint cooperation between the Arab Republic of Egypt represented by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Egyptian National Committee for Education, Science and Culture, and the Education Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, with ISESCO, and the University of King Saud, and funded by the Saleh Kamel Humanitarian Foundation.

Ashour pointed out the expected importance of this project in facing the unprecedented challenges facing the region today at the social, economic and environmental levels, driven by technological developments in light of the fourth and fifth industrial revolution, in addition to environmental changes, pointing to the radical shifts imposed by it in teaching methods, education patterns and the quality of its inputs. The qualitative change in the outcomes of the educational process to keep pace with technical and technological developments and the transition to a knowledge economy.

The minister pointed to the Egyptian political leadership's interest in developing the education system at all levels in line with the goals of the sustainable development plan and Egypt's Vision 2030, and upgrading the frameworks working in the field of education by improving the quality of professional development programs for teachers, stressing Egypt's pride in choosing it to be the first member state and the beginning of the launch of this project. And incubating his idea, starting from 2022 and for three consecutive years, expressing his confidence that the project will yield outstanding results that will be reflected in the quality of the educational output, and that Egypt’s experience will be a pioneer in implementing this project based on its vital and effective role at the regional and international levels, which Reflects the size of its experiences and historical legacy in the fields of education and development.

The Minister thanked the Saleh Kamel Humanitarian Foundation and King Saud University, praising the close cooperation and bonds of friendship that unite Egypt and the Kingdom. He also thanked the Egyptian National Committee for Education, Science and Culture, and the members of the scientific committee of the project for their outstanding efforts in preparing it.

On his part, Dr. Salem bin Muhammad Al-Malik thanks Egypt for the hospitality, reception and organization of this event, praising the experience and educational status that Egypt enjoys at the Arab and regional levels, in addition to its great role in developing education in a number of member states of the Islamic World Organization, noting that Egypt will be the first destination for implementing the project. This allows project beneficiaries to enjoy the skills presented to them and to obtain credible certificates.

The Director-General of the organization explained that the concept of international professional certificates in teaching is one of the systems that are designed and implemented by independent and specialized bodies, associations and organizations, based on the competencies and skills needed by basic professions in the labor market, as well as focusing on experience and scientific practice, praising the cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education. and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, to implement this project.

For his part, Mr. Abdullah Saleh expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s position and its leadership in the region in the field of education and scientific research, pointing to the high value that he inherited in advance from his father Sheikh Saleh Kamel for Egypt and its historical position, and pointed to the value of the teacher in the educational process and the institution’s interest in the appreciation of the teacher and the human value of his role and its impact on shaping the personality of new generations and qualifying them to deal with the new world.

It is worth noting that the idea of ​​the project is based on providing international professional certificates in the field of teaching; With the aim of building a new pattern in the professional development of specialized teachers who implement the educational curriculum, as well as qualifying them and providing them with the necessary competencies and skills required in their specialties. The practical and applied side and there is a change in knowledge as well as skills and behavior, and there are several justifications for adopting the method of professional certificates, which include the absence of similar certificates and professional programs, which gives the possibility of precedence and excellence that serves the countries working to develop their education, ministries of education and private schools, Especially at a time when you need the help of teachers with experience in the field of curriculum development.
