The Faculty of Engineering wins first place in the project of small wind energy generating systems

Within the framework of the activities of the World Forum on Higher Education and Scientific Research (the second edition), which was organized under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi from 8 to 10 December, a competition in entrepreneurship was held under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and the Al-Alfi Foundation. More than 16 teams representing all Egyptian universities participated in the competition to present new ideas for start-up companies in the fields of science and technology. Ain Shams University participated in the ASUWind team, which includes many students from different programs and specializations in the field of wind energy under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.

The team presented the idea of ​​starting a company that would design and manufacture small wind turbines to generate electricity in remote areas.

The team managed to win the first place in the competition equally with a team from Mansoura Engineering, and the team received a financial prize of thirty thousand pounds, and the award was handed over to Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University.
