Ain Shams University Opens Nominations for Faculty Staff for the 2027 State Awards Granted by the Supreme Council of Culture in the Fields of Arts, Literature, and Social Sciences
As part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to supporting excellence and creativity in the fields of arts, literature, and social sciences, encouraging faculty staff and researchers to apply for prestigious scientific and cultural awards, and recognizing their outstanding contributions in these fields, and under the patronage of Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, the University announces the opening of nominations for the 2027 State Awards granted by the Supreme Council of Culture. The awards include the Nile Awards, State Appreciation Awards, State Awards for Excellence, and State Incentive Awards, in accordance with the terms and regulations governing each award.
First: Nile Award for Creators
The Nile Award is granted to an outstanding figure in the fields of arts, literature, or social sciences. The award is valued at EGP 500,000 (five hundred thousand Egyptian pounds), in addition to a gold medal. The award may not be divided or granted to the same person more than once in the same category.
The Nile Awards for Egyptian creators comprise three awards, with one award in each of the following fields:
• Arts.
• Literature.
• Social Sciences.
One additional award is allocated to Arab creators in one of the fields of arts, literature, or social sciences.
Second: State Appreciation Award
The State Appreciation Award is granted to distinguished individuals for their intellectual contributions in the fields of arts, literature, and social sciences. Each award is valued at EGP 200,000 (two hundred thousand Egyptian pounds), in addition to a gold medal. The award may not be divided or granted to the same person more than once.
A total of 10 State Appreciation Awards are granted as follows:
• 3 awards in Arts.
• 3 awards in Literature.
• 4 awards in Social Sciences.
Third: State Award for Excellence
The State Award for Excellence is granted to distinguished individuals for their intellectual contributions in the fields of arts, literature, and social sciences.
Number of awards: 7, distributed as follows:
Arts: 2 awards.
Literature: 2 awards.
Social Sciences: 3 awards.
Award value: EGP 100,000 (one hundred thousand Egyptian pounds) and a silver medal.
The award may not be divided into or granted to the same person more than once in the same category.
Fourth: State Incentive Award
The State Incentive Award is granted to encourage intellectual contributions in the fields of arts, literature, social sciences, and legal and economic sciences. Each award is valued at EGP 50,000 (fifty thousand Egyptian pounds).
A total of 32 State Incentive Awards are granted across the following fields:
• Arts.
• Literature.
• Social Sciences.
• Legal and Economic Sciences.

Fifth: Nomination Deadlines
Please adhere to the following deadlines for completing the nomination procedures and reviewing the required documents:
- Deadline for receiving nomination files from the University’s faculties:
November 19, 2026.
- Deadline for submission to the awarding body:
December 31, 2026.
