The Faculty of Law Students Qualify for the Finals of the Arab Moot Court Competition on Human Rights in Doha
Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Yassin El-Shazly, Dean of the Faculty of Law, the Faculty’s team has qualified for the final stage of the second edition of the Arab Human Rights Moot Court Competition, which will be held in person in Doha, Qatar, from October 20 to 22, 2026.

The qualification came after the team successfully completed the written memorials and preliminary oral rounds organized online by the United Nations Training and Documentation Centre for Human Rights for South-West Asia and the Arab Region (August 2–5, 2026). The team secured a place among only 15 teams that qualified for the finals out of 68 universities representing 16 Arab countries.
Prof. Yassin El-Shazly, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Mohamed El-Shafey, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, received the qualifying team members, commending their academic excellence and outstanding legal performance.

The faculty’s team consisted of three female students who demonstrated excellence in international human rights law, legal analysis, and advocacy skills before the Moot Court panel: Soheila Hamdy Fathy Khalil — Fourth-year student, English Section, Salma Amr Ibrahim Abu El-Yazid — Third-year student, Arabic Section, Malak Mohamed Abdel Tawab Eid — Third-year student, Arabic Section.
The team received specialized academic supervision and training from Mohamed Alaa Fathy El-Fattah, Assistant Lecturer, Public Law Department, and Dr. Basma Adel El-Sen, Lecturer of Public International Law and Deputy Director of the Faculty’s International Cooperation Office.
The faculty’s students will participate in the final in-person hearings in Doha, representing the Faculty and Ain Shams University at the Arab level and continuing their competition for the top positions in the championship.
