As part of the societal mission of Egypt's public universities and in line with efforts to strengthen collaboration among academic institutions in serving local communities, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Ain Shams University organized a comprehensive development convoy to serve the residents of El Rahmaniya District in Beheira Governorate. The initiative was held under the patronage of Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Governor of Beheira; Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; and Prof. Elhamy Ali Trabis, President of Damanhour University. The convoy was chaired by Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Enas Ibrahim, Vice President of Damanhour University for Community Service and Environmental Development.

Prof. Ghada Farouk stated that the convoy is part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's efforts to expand medical and development convoys while strengthening cooperation and integration among Egyptian universities to broaden the scope of services provided to citizens across the country's governorates.

She added that Ain Shams University continues to fulfill its national and societal mission by supporting presidential initiatives and actively contributing to sustainable development efforts aimed at improving citizens' quality of life, particularly in underserved communities. She noted that development convoys represent a successful model of collaboration across the University's various sectors, delivering specialized healthcare services free of charge, easing the burden on citizens, and supporting the state's efforts to strengthen the healthcare system.

The convoy witnessed a strong turnout from residents of El Rahmaniya District, with healthcare services provided through ten specialized medical clinics. More than 800 citizens benefited from medical examinations and treatment during the one-day event, while approximately the same number received medications free of charge, reflecting the University's commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services to the local community.

The convoy was carried out under the executive supervision of Prof. Hala Samir Sweed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals. Administrative supervision was provided by Major General Hossam El Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
