Within the framework of ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the European Union Delegation in Egypt to organize the EU-Egypt Research and Innovation Week, scheduled to take place from November 30th to December 4th, 2025, Ain Shams University will host an information session on the "EURAXESS" and "Horizon Europe" programs.
The session will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2025, at nine o'clock in the morning in the Grand Conference Hall at the Faculty of Pharmacy, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Sherweit EL-Ahmady, Executive Director of International Students and Mobility Office, and organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the Graduate Studies and Research Sector.
This event is part of the activities of the week supporting Egyptian-European cooperation in scientific research, and a key component of the broader promotional campaign for the Eurasus program within Egyptian universities. It highlights Ain Shams University's efforts in supporting the scientific research system and strengthening international partnerships, particularly following Egypt's official accession to the Horizon Europe program.
The session aims to raise awareness of European funding opportunities, mobility programs, and research support, especially for researchers in the early and mid-stages of their careers, and to familiarize them with the mechanisms for participating in European programs.
Representatives from Euraxess, the EU Delegation to Egypt, and the national focal points for Horizon Europe will also give presentations on funding mechanisms, international mobility programs, and how to build competitive research portfolios.
The session will also feature success stories from Egyptian researchers who have participated in Horizon Europe and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) program, inspiring more researchers to engage with the European research community.
