Climate changes and their effects on aquatic life and the economy in Egypt...a workshop at the Middle East Research Center

Within the framework of the cultural season for the year 2021-2022 of the Center for Middle East Research and Future Studies, the Center intends to hold a workshop entitled “Climate Changes and Their Effects on Aquatic Biology and the Economy in Egypt” on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at eleven o’clock in the morning in the conference hall of the center.

The workshop is held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University and Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Affairs and Environmental Development and Chairman of the Center's Board of Directors. The workshop is run by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mouns, Director of the Center.

Lectures in the workshop: Dr. Eid Rashad, economics teacher at the Faculty of Commerce at Ain Shams University, and Assistant Professor Heba Salah Hamed, Assistant Professor of Fish Physiology - Girls College of Arts, Science and Education at Ain Shams University, and the workshop will be followed by Prof. Dr. Hanan Kamel, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Education and Student Affairs at Ain Shams University.

This workshop comes in light of the Middle East Research Center’s interest in addressing contemporary issues that affect the Egyptian economy, the most important of which is the issue of climate change, by reviewing the concept of climate change, its causes, and its impact on humans and economic life in general and on fisheries in particular, and the proposed solutions to limit From the impact of climate change on humans, biodiversity and reducing carbon emissions in Egypt.

Gentlemen wishing to attend the workshop should head to the center’s headquarters at the university to pay the subscription fees from 9 am to 12 pm.

Entry Fee:

- 200 EGP for the Egyptian researcher

- 600 EGP for the foreign researcher
