The Faculty of Arts holds a symposium on “The Egyptian Knowledge Bank and a course in promoting scientific research”

The Faculty of Arts, at Ain Shams University, represented by the Graduate Studies and Research Sector, organized a symposium on “The Egyptian Knowledge Bank and a Course in Promoting Scientific Research,” under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Hanan Kamel Metwally, Dean of the Faculty, under the supervision of Prof. Hatem Rabie, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Postgraduate Studies and Research and coordination of Dr. Ahmed Al-Sadawi, Director of the Researcher Services Unit, Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim, Head of the Training Committee, Performance Evaluation and Quality Assurance Unit,

Dr. Ahmed Hamdi, Training Officer at the Knowledge Bank, Mr. Walid Ali, Marketing and Training Coordinator at the Knowledge Bank, gave a lecture at the symposium.

Dr. Ahmed Hamdy gave an introductory introduction to the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, which is the largest digital library in the world that provides unlimited resources exclusively for Egyptians. It is an initiative launched by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi during National Science Day in 2014. Through this initiative, the specialized councils affiliated with the Presidency of the Republic began working to initiate many national projects concerned with developing education

The Egyptian Knowledge Bank gives all Egyptians of all ages the opportunity to access the greatest amount of knowledge and cultural and scientific content, whether basic or applied, or in the field of technology, humanities, or administrative sciences.

Then Dr. Ahmed Hamdy explained how to register an account on the Egyptian Knowledge Bank and the necessary steps for that, as well as how to browse specialized information sources on a specific topic, learn about the mechanism for accessing the title of a specific magazine, book, and university thesis, and also learn about the sources of information for the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, which includes four sub-portals. (Readers, Academic, Education, Children)

Dr. Ahmed Hamdy added that the Egyptian Knowledge Bank serves children aged 6-14 years and provides educational and entertaining activities and resources. An account is created by a parent or guardian, and provides students and teachers with special educational resources that are compatible with the school curriculum.
