Signing a memorandum of understanding between Ain Shams University and the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates to enhance cooperation

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Humaid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, signed a memorandum of understanding between the two parties, within the framework of developing and strengthening their international cooperation in the fields of scientific and academic research.

The President of Ain Shams University emphasized the depth and strength of Egyptian-Emirati relations, noting that there is extended cooperation with the University of Sharjah, including a cooperation agreement with the university’s Faculty of Law.

He expressed his happiness at signing this memorandum, as Ain Shams University attaches great importance to supporting academic ties with universities to enhance cultural, knowledge and research exchange.

For his part, Professor Dr. Humaid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, stressed the importance of this memorandum in enhancing cultural and academic cooperation between the two countries, expressing his happiness at enhancing scientific and research exchange with Ain Shams University, which has a distinguished international reputation.

It is noteworthy that the memorandum of understanding serves as the institutional framework for cooperation between the two sides and in identifying areas of common interest to serve the interests of both parties and all segments of society, as it was agreed to exchange faculty members, researchers and employees, and student exchange at the bachelor’s and postgraduate levels, as well as cooperation in offering joint/dual academic programs and short-term private academic programs, cooperation in developing curricula, teaching and learning, and e-learning programs, and joint supervision of undergraduate and graduate students.

It was also agreed to cooperate in the fields of scientific research, grants, publishing joint scientific research and studies, organizing training programs, conferences, seminars, and joint scientific and academic forums, in addition to cooperation in consultations, training, professional development, teaching and learning methods, exchanging academic publications and scientific materials, exchanging institutional data for joint strategic comparison, and exchanging data and experiences in institutional media magazines.

Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector at Ain Shams University, and Prof. Abdel Aziz Sufyan, Director of the International Relations Office at the University of Sharjah, were chosen as parties to communicate between the two sides and work to coordinate the activities included under this memorandum.

The signing ceremony was witnessed from Ain Shams University: Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, Prof. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Neven Assem, Executive Director of the Innovation and Training Sector, Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of the International Students and Mobility Office Department, and from the University of Sharjah: Prof. Essam El-Din Ajami, Vice Chancellor for Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation, Dr. Salah Taher Al-Hajj, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, Mr. Omar Mohamed, Director of the Office of Excellence, Mrs. Rana Al-Shaar, Office of the Academic Vice Chancellor, Mr. Nasser Omar, Director of Student Housing, and Mr. Amr, of the education attachés for the Emirates in Cairo.
