The Minister of Higher Education congratulates the Racing Team of the Faculty of Engineering for winning first place in designing electric racing cars in the United Kingdom

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, congratulated the racing team of the Faculty of Engineering, at Ain Shams University, for winning first place in the field of designing electric racing cars in the Formula Student competition, which was held in the United Kingdom.

The minister praised the team's outstanding achievement by outperforming 37 teams from around the world in the competition, pointing out that this achievement enhances the status and distinction of Egyptian universities, stressing his full support and encouragement for all student teams from Egyptian universities to participate in regional and international competitions in various fields, noting that Egypt possesses a huge human wealth of creative youth who are able to contribute to achieving renaissance and progress for our dear homeland.

For his part, Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, praised the creativity and excellence of the university's Faculty of Engineering team, congratulating them and the faculty's family on this wonderful victory, stressing that the university has many geniuses in all fields related to creativity and innovation, noting the university's keenness to encourage its students to participate in international competitions and provide them with the opportunity for creativity and innovation, and to communicate with their peers from all over the world.

Dr. Omar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, at Ain Shams University, indicated that the faculty team’s victory in this competition is a natural result of the tangible development that the faculty is witnessing at the level of all study and research programs, its international partnerships, and student activities.

He explained that this distinguished achievement represents a distinguished addition to the Faculty of Engineering and Ain Shams University at the international level, as the competition witnesses the participation of several prestigious universities around the world, indicating that the success of the faculty team in achieving this advanced position enhances the position of Ain Shams University in the international scientific community, especially in the field of engineering.

For his part, Dr. Muhammad Abdulaziz, Head of the Automotive Department at the Faculty of Engineering and supervisor of the team, pointed out that this competition is held annually in the United Kingdom, and the team participated in three competitions (designing and manufacturing a racing car with an internal combustion engine, designing an electric racing car, designing and programming self-driving racing cars).

Dr. Mohamed Abdelaziz mentioned that the team achieved other advanced positions in the competition, including third place in the world in managing the business and marketing of a self-driving racing car model, fifth place in the world in the fields of (business management and marketing of the electric racing car model, static tests for self-driving racing cars, studying the costs and methods of manufacturing electric racing cars), eleventh place in studying the costs and methods of manufacturing racing cars with internal combustion engines, and seventeenth place in its design, explaining that it is not the first time for the team to get first place in the fields of the competition, and honoring it on the podium, raising the flag of his country and a phone in her name.
