The Faculty of Dentistry celebrates the graduation of the Class of 2024 in a grand ceremony

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, the Faculty of Dentistry celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2024 in a distinguished ceremony attended by university leaders, faculty staff, and parents, amidst an atmosphere filled with pride and admiration for the graduates’ achievements.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the playing of the national anthem, and the graduates were warmly welcomed amid feelings of joy and appreciation. A documentary film was presented, highlighting the history of the faculty, its educational and research achievements, and showcasing its facilities, including 378 dental units, 3 simulation labs, a computer lab, 11 educational labs, advanced digital units, and a stem cell unit, along with modern clinic equipment and community medical outreach programs organized in collaboration with various associations, including the Egyptian Red Crescent Society.

In his speech, Prof. Karim El-Battouti, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, welcomed the attendees and expressed gratitude to the Minister of Health and Population, Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abideen for their continuous support, which has helped the faculty achieve global recognition. He emphasized the pride in the faculty’s graduates both in Egypt and abroad and highlighted the role of the Graduate Affairs Office in supporting them in their professional journey. He also thanked the parents for their efforts and sacrifices, as well as the faculty and administrative staff for their contributions to the faculty’s educational and research mission.

Prof. Reham Magdy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, expressed her happiness in celebrating the Class of 2024, noting that the day marks the culmination of years of hard work and the beginning of a new stage in their professional careers. She highlighted that the graduates are embarking on a journey from classrooms to professional fields, becoming ambassadors of the Faculty of Dentistry and Ain Shams University worldwide, and emphasized the faculty’s international accreditation by the European Accreditation Authority, reflecting the quality of education offered.

She praised the support of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, the efforts of Prof. Karim El-Battouti, Prof. Dalia El-Qurashi, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Walaa Hamed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. She also thanked the faculty members, staff, and security personnel, acknowledging the parents as key partners in the graduates’ success. She concluded with a message encouraging graduates to pursue continuous learning and professional development, emphasizing that dentistry is not only a science and skill but also a humanitarian mission that requires dedication.

Prof. Mohamed El-Mufti, representing the Egyptian Dental Association, expressed pride in Ain Shams Dentistry graduates, noting the faculty’s high academic and practical standards. He also praised the previous and current deans, the recent dental conference, and the faculty’s efforts in supporting education.

The ceremony included honoring distinguished faculty staff, master’s and PhD graduates, top graduates, and talented students who performed artistic segments. The celebration concluded with the graduate’s expressing gratitude to faculty staff and parents for their pivotal role in reaching this milestone in their academic and professional lives.
