The Vice President for Education and Student Affairs Receives Accreditation Review Teams for the Faculties of Dentistry and Education from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and in light of the Faculties of Dentistry and Education applying for institutional and program accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE), Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Meriam Farid Ayad, Director of the University Quality Assurance Center, received a delegation from the National Authority on Saturday, 14 February 2026, at the IHUB building. The protocol meeting was held ahead of the accreditation teams’ visits to the faculties.

         
   
         

The meeting was attended by Prof. Safaa Shehata, Dean of the Faculty of Education, along with the faculty vice deans; Prof. Karim El-Batouty, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry; Prof. Abeer El-Gendy, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Dentistry; and the accreditation visit coordinators from both faculties. Following the meeting, the accreditation teams proceeded to the faculties to begin the review and evaluation process, which took place over three days (14–16 February 2026). The evaluation included assessing infrastructure, observing the educational process, and conducting meetings and interviews with all relevant stakeholders to review the implementation of quality assurance and accreditation standards.

The institutional and program accreditation review team for the Faculty of Dentistry included:

The institutional and program accreditation review team for the Faculty of Education included:

◾ Prof. Nadia Hassan El-Sayed Ali (Member)

◾ Prof. Omayma Mohamed El-Dardir Mohamed (Member)

◾ Prof. Hoda Kamal Mohamed El-Sayed (Member)

◾ Prof. Salama Ismail Ali Mohamed (Observer)

During the meeting, Prof. Rami Maher Ghali emphasized the university leadership’s strong commitment to implementing quality standards and academic excellence. He highlighted the continuous efforts made by the university and its faculties to develop the educational and research process in alignment with Egypt Vision 2030. He also affirmed the university’s ongoing commitment to providing full support to its faculties and institutes to enable them to achieve academic accreditation at both the national and international levels.

He further noted that Ain Shams University’s Strategic Plan (2024–2029) is aligned with the strategic objectives of Egypt Vision 2030, the National Climate Change Strategy 2050, and the Sustainable Development Goals. He added that all faculties and institutes have aligned their strategic plans (2024–2029) with the university’s overall strategic framework.

   
   

He concluded by praising the vital role of the University Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center and its outstanding efforts in supporting faculties and institutes through the implementation of effective and sustainable quality assurance systems and performance development initiatives.

Prof. Meriam Farid Ayad, Director of the Quality Assurance Center, also affirmed the Center’s commitment to providing comprehensive support to faculties and institutes in quality assurance and accreditation readiness. This is achieved through continuous communication, technical support visits, performance monitoring, simulation exercises, and the provision of training courses and workshops as part of the Center’s annual plan or upon faculty request. She also highlighted the Center’s role in reviewing faculty strategic plans to ensure alignment with the university’s strategic plan, monitoring institutional and program performance, and implementing quality systems to enhance continuous improvement and overall institutional excellence.
