Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development, chaired the first meeting of the Community Observatory, affirming that the university continues to strengthen its leadership in monitoring and analyzing societal phenomena and in developing practical solutions that support the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt’s Vision 2030.

The meeting featured a brainstorming session aimed at developing a comprehensive executive plan, building on the university’s robust research legacy, its pool of volunteer students, and its academic expertise capable of innovation, positioning the Observatory as an effective platform for transforming scientific knowledge into tangible initiatives and real-world solutions.

The latest updates to the Observatory’s website were also reviewed, during which the Vice President emphasized the importance of expanding communication channels with the university community.

The meeting was attended by a distinguished group of university faculty staff, including Prof. Gehan Ragab, Emeritus Professor at the Faculty of Business and General Supervisor of the Community Observatory; Prof. Heba Shaheen, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication; Prof. Heba Barakat, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Girls; Prof. Hala Khalaf, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education; Prof. Mahmoud Fayez, Director of the University’s Network and Information Technology Center; and Mr. Mahmoud Gamal, Director of the Volunteering Department at the Egyptian Red Crescent.
